彁’s Résumé

彁’s source field is blank, yet interchange has already begun. Calling yūrei moji nonexistent characters is the convenient formulation; many so-called ghosts later turned out to derive from place names, personal names, variant forms, or erroneous writings. 彁 is narrower: after reexamination, it still comes close to being supported by fields alone.

SEI, gē, go1, NMRR, 1122.1 did not fill in its provenance. They are processing values. When a system receives this code point, it at least knows how to look it up, how to sort it, and how to transmit it.

Its origin was never filled in, yet interchange had already occurred. Deleting it therefore no longer looks like cleanup. Removing it would create new broken links, wrong characters, and non-interchangeable texts among fonts, input methods, and legacy documents. The system need not believe where it came from, but it must know how to hand it to the next system.

Uses such as titles and trigger symbols borrow a vacancy with few old debts. The blank was not filled in as provenance; it was only registered as use. The final field in the résumé is not biography, but usability.
